Hey!! Itโs been a while!!
Welcome to Guatemala, the land of eternal spring! ๐ฑ
So weโve been here for 3 weeks, and in that time we have done SO MANY THINGS!!
๐Let me rewind to leaving Malaysia/ travel day here! ๐
We left Malaysia on the 17th of January, and we got here to Guatemala on the 19th of January. But hereโs the kicker- there is a 12 hour difference from Malaysia to Guatemala. Our total time for travel day was 65 hours!! โ๏ธ
It is such a privilege to be able to travel and itโs so fun to see how long we travel for! This was the longest travel day yet!! ๐
The first week we were here we started getting acquainted to the different cultures and started ministry!!
My team is partnering with this beautiful ministry in San Antonio!! My ministry hosts are SO AWESOME! I canโt say this enough- the people you spend your time with make it what it is. I have found so much joy in going to ministry every day, because we are doing such fun things- AND because of the amazing hosts we have!! Shout out to everyone at Hope!!
Alex, Marisol, Jeoffry, Cali & Roberto! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! ๐ซถ๐ป๐ซถ๐ป๐ซถ๐ป
You might be wondering, โMia what do you do all day for ministry?โ
Well lemme break it down for ya: We do something different everyday of the week, which is such a blessing!
โค๏ธTuesday we do Bible study in the morning (right now we are going through Revelation) with just my team and our ministry hosts! Then we usually do a house visit until lunch time! Then in the afternoons we are helping with VBS at the garden!
๐งกWednesdays are different every week, but they normally include Bible study in the morning (reading through Daniel), paired with a prayer set and worship! Then in the afternoon we either clean up the garden, or ministry house, or go to a womanโs Bible study!!
๐Thursdays are our ACTIVATION days! Which just means we stay on base and have worship and a teaching in the morning- then whatever the teaching is about, we go and put it into practice! For example: if we learn about prayer and intercession- we will pray and intercede for the afternoon. If itโs about evangelism, then we will go to a town and evangelize.
๐Fridays are back in San Antonio, where we are doing soccer (futbol) ministry all day with big kids and little kids!
๐Saturdays look different every week but itโs just whatever they want from us that week!!
๐Sundays and Mondays are my adventure day and sabbath!!
๐ขOH MY GOSH I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU๐ข this last weekend, me and my team had the most amazing opportunity to stay in San Antonio for two nights as part of our ministry! We went to a worship night in Antigua on Thursday night, hosted by our ministry hosts! Then we went to San Antonio for the night so we could just wake up and go strait to ministry from there! Then after Fridays soccer ministry- we had another amazing opportunity to go to a worship night at our ministry hosts HOME! They made us dinner, and we started worship at 9pm and went till 6:30am! Part of the night was worship, part of it was reading scripture, and part of it was prayer & intercession! It was such a beautiful time of laying our desires for sleep at the feet of the lord! It was a night to remember and I will forever be grateful for that time!! ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
I know I say this about every place I have been and I will continue to find joy in every place that I go. BUT I truly love Guatemala and the culture here! ๐ฌ๐นIโve learned so much more Spanish in the three weeks Iโve been here than the 2 years I took in high school. Who is surprised? Not me.
But the food, the people, the music, the culture is all so beautiful! I have been to a couple other countries in Latin America and I love the diversity between each countryโs culture, and ways of life!! I love it here in Latin America, I donโt wanna come home, sorry mom! ๐
I have been learning so much about God, about my faith, what I believe and what I donโt. But Iโve also been learning so much about other peoples perspectives of God, and the way people here believe! Itโs so cool to see Jesus in a different light! Iโve seen how people view Jesus in Malaysia, Swazi, and now here! I love the similarities and differences in how people see Jesus. I think it is so beautiful and unique!!
:)
Wow the world race is something else. Iโve never been in such an uncomfortable yet beautiful place in my life. It is absolutely uncomfortable and hard. The world race is by no means โglamorousโ. But thatโs what I signed up for! I signed up to be uncomfortable and to grow through being uncomfortable, grow through seeing Jesus in different ways, grow through seeing the heartbreak throughout the world. Grow through experiencing new things, even if they arenโt pretty! I think it is such a privilege that I get to be out here doing these things and experiencing new things. Even if I am struggling or not having the best time mentally- I will always look back on this time in my life and be SO grateful for all the things it has taught me!
So without further ado, here are some of my prayer requests! ๐๐๐
-
I am asking for prayer over my mental heath! Iโve definitely been better, but I think Iโve also been worse! But prayer over that nonetheless!
-
Recently (and always) been missing family and home!
-
Being content where I am! Aka - not being too focused on the future and instead being where my feet are! Being happy right where I am exactly at this moment!
-
Finances: The World Race has been an incredible experience, but itโs also a reminder that not every expense is fully covered. Day to day needs add up, and while Iโm spending less than I would back home, Iโm also not earning income while Iโm here. I would really appreciate prayer for provision, wisdom, and peace as I trust God to carry me through the remainder of the race.
And with all that to say-
ยกGracias por leer mi blog! I so appreciate everyone who supports me either in prayer, finances, or even just reading my blogs!! I love you all!
Ta ta for now!๐๐ผ๐
